Greetings from Think Tank Comedy!! Just a quick note to let you know that we are hosting the critically acclaimed Blackout Diaries this Saturday at the High Hat Lounge in Chicago  at 8pm. The Blackout Diaries is a show where regular folks and comedians get up and tell ludicrous drinking stories with photographic and video evidence to back it up. This show happens to fall on Kevin "Cappy" Carroll's birthday (which, let's be honest, we could do an entire Blackout Diaries show on previous Cappy birthday escapades...and maybe we will?!?). We are also excited that Drew Frees will be joining us for this madness. This will be his last show in Chicago before departing for the high seas as the stand up on a Second City cruise. Sick Day is Coming!!!

Hey guys! Just some odds and ends to get you caught up...we're still hard at work on the Sick Day Crawfordsville episode. The locations shots are all done, and we are currently in the process of casting and shooting the studio segments. We don't have any live shows on the books, but we'll be popping up soon. Also, Paul got married! It was one of the most epic nights in our history, as we all celebrated with our friends on the rooftop deck at Navy Pier late into the night. We'll see you soon!

THIS SATURDAY!!! THE BEST VALENTINE'S DAY SHOW IN WORLD HISTORY!!!

That's right, it's a Valentine's Day show for the ages at the historic Park West Theater, this Saturday, Feb. 15th!!! THIS IS BY FAR, THE BIGGEST SHOW WE'VE EVER DONE, and will only be bigger with YOU there. The fabulous Puterbaugh Sisters are hosting the extravaganza that will feature comedy, live music, and a lot of surprises throughout the night. Think Tank will be debuting new material, and pulling from our archives to provide a show all about LOVE (or as much as a bunny seducing a penguin can be about love).

The evening will also feature comedy from Chad Briggs, Drew Frees, Platcow & Friends, and much more (can you say Tom Jones impersonator? We thought you could!). After nearly a 2 hour comedy set, we have music from White Noise, and the legendary guitarist Louis Zagoras with his band Rollover. The entertainment starts at 7:30 SHARP with the comedy coming first, so get there early, and stay there late! Doors open at 6:30pm and seating is general admission. This will be an action packed night and it will keep going until midnight (and maybe beyond!). Tickets to "More Bang for Your Buck Valentine's Variety Show" are a way better gift than an editable arrangements bouquet or a weekend getaway at Sybaris. Think Tank at Chicago Sketchfest

Think Tank will be bringing our antics to the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival Stage, this Saturday, Jan. 11th at 7pm. This is our 7th (!?!) year doing this fest, and it is always one of our biggest, most fun shows of the year. You can buy tickets HERE. You can avoid service fees by picking up tickets at the theater, or by simply calling and ordering 773-327-5252. After the show, we have set up a deal at Trader Todd's for $3 drafts. We will be heading there for the second half of the Colts/Patriots game. Paul (a Patriots fan) and Brent (a Colts fan) may hate each other while the game is on, but rest assured, their friendship will remain intact afterward. Hope to see you there!

Think Tank performing live at LA Comedy Fest

We're loading up the wagon and heading out to LA for the 14th edition of the LA Comedy Fest in just a few weeks! If you're in the LA area or plan to be on Saturday November 23rd, come check out our show. There will be a mix of new and classic Tank material as we perform in the land of beach bros and Hollywood nights for the first time. We're very excited to be jumping back onstage after focusing on video production for the last few months. Stay tuned to this site and our facebook page for details about a pre-festival send off show and party in Chicago. Still ironing out the details but we'll likely be returning to a familiar venue, with familiar PBRs, and some pretty good familiar characters.

This past fall we helped write/perform in an original Chicago comedy pilot called Sick Day. The show features some of the biggest talents in Chicago, including Strangers with Candy star Greg HollImon. Sick Day is hosting its premier party at Laugh Factory Chicago on Tuesday, June 25th. In addition to watching the pilot episode of the show, Paul and Kevin from Think Tank will also be making a live appearance as the Fashion Police.

New Think Tank Sketch Revue, "CHASING THE HYPE" Coming in June!!!!

Think Tank is excited to announce an all new full length sketch comedy revue, Chasing the Hype, at the Den Theatre, Sundays, June 2nd-23rd!  With our trademark style of silly satire and bizarre scenarios, Think Tank pokes fun at America’s obsession with reporting the news as quickly and bombastically as possible. With elements of vaudeville, silent film, and multimedia, Chasing the Hype presents a portrait of reactionary news coverage, along with a crop of scenes designed to poke fun at the sillier aspects of every-day life.

Shows will be at 7:30 at the amazing Den Theatre at 1333 N. Milwaukee, in Wicker Park. THINK TANK NEWS UPDATE!!!!

HELLO OUT THERE!! It's a crazy time here at Think Tank HQ so let's jump right in. First and foremost, we are very excited to announce that our new video, "Celebrity Intervention," WILL DROP ON OUR YOUTUBE PAGE NEXT TUESDAY, MAY 7TH!!!! We can't wait to finally unveil this to the public. Our esteemed colleague, Greg Wenz, saw it in a private viewing and called it, "Brilliant! It's like a short film!" So yeah, we packed a lot into under 4 minutes. In the meantime, we just released a little teaser, "Shh...It's Bedtime," featuring the extras who helped us out. A big thanks to Al, Chad, John, Susan, Katie, Ashby, Jaymee, and Tiny for helping us out. We are also elbow deep in editing 3 other projects, so be on the lookout for a lot of new material!

We are also excited to announce that we have booked our first run of live shows since Chicago Sketchfest!! We will be performing an all new revue Sundays in June at the DEN THEATRE, at 1333 N. Milwaukee. This is our debut in Wicker Park, and the shows will be at 7:30 on Sundays June 2-23. This is our first full revue since the critically acclaimed Modern Men run at Stage 773, and we can't wait to wallop you over the head with a brand new hour of laughs.

New Sick Day Promo Video Featuring the Fashion Police

Hello out there! We've been hiding in our secret lair, producing, filming, and editing a ton of new video content that we will be unveiling in the coming weeks. As we've mentioned, we also recently worked on a pilot project at Odd Machine with our pals at Lakewood Manor Players called Sick Day. A lot of clips from the shoot have been surfacing online, and one of the clips featuring Think Tank characters, the Fashion Police, just surfaced online. It's now available below for your viewing pleasure! This is a rough edit, and needs some polishing, but we were so gosh darned excited, we just had to share it with you anyway. Our new video "You're Robert Deniro" has been sent to our sound people and is almost done, AND we are filming again next week, SO STAY TUNED FOR A LOT MORE!!

Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season without gaining 20lbs (like we did) and that your New Year's Resolutions are going splendidly! A new year means one thing in Tank Town: IT'S TIME FOR CHICAGO SKETCHFEST!!! We are honored to have another coveted Saturday slot at this year's festival. Our show is this Saturday, January 12th at 6pm and TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW (just scroll down to Jan. 12th, find the Think Tank hyperlink, and CLICK). As always, we are going to pull out all the stops for our 6th (!!!) consecutive year performing performing the fest (we think 6 may be a World Record...we're still waiting for confirmation).  

Now, you may be saying to yourself, "6pm seems mighty early for the Think Tank boys to be starting a show," and you might be correct. However, this is much more than just a show. We are building out an entire evening of silly times afterwards. We'll start with the show at 6pm sharp, then the Trader Todd's bus will pick up our fans and bring them a few blocks east (it's also easily walkable, if that's one of your resolutions) to the bar for $3 drafts, shot specials, and appetizers courtesy of Think Tank. We'll carry that party into the night and see where it takes us, probably breaking many of our own resolutions in the process.

In other exciting news, our entire 24 minute pilot television episode of Misguided TV will be live online for your viewing pleasure at our Vimeo page RIGHT HERE Saturday evening. Right now, that link won't take you anywhere fancy, but we will make it live right after the Sketchfest show Saturday night!!

Think Tank's 4th Annual Holiday Fundraiser Show

Greetings! We presume you survived Black Friday, Local Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, and Give Back Tuesday and are really confused as to how the holidays got here so fast. Hopefully you had a better Thanksgiving than New York Jets fans, and if you are a Jets fan, well, we're sorry.

We've been busier than a Kohl's new hire on Black Friday. We wrapped shooting for the Sick Day pilot at Odd Machine. We are also pleased to announce that for the 4th consecutive year, Think Tank is putting on a Holiday Spectacular show to benefit a local charity. This year, we've rejoined forces with the awesome people of the Mae Bell Ward Foundation for Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's is a disease that has affected every member of Think Tank, and sadly, millions across the globe. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the foundation.

Think Tank has prepared an entire new holiday themed show for the evening, chock full of special guests, sweet surprises, and holiday magic for the audience. We're excited to be performing at Fizz Bar (3220 N. Lincoln) for the first time. The show starts at 8pm on December 13th and will be $10 at the door. OH MY GOD TWINKIES! ...and other news.

That's the first image that comes up if you google "dead twinkie." I bet a lot of people are doing things like that today. So, aside from no more twinkies, CIA and FBI agents gettin' their groove on, and Gangnam Style, what else is happening in the news?

Anything new with Think Tank?

Why yes. Yes there is.

This weekend the guys are all taking part in the shooting of a comedy pilot directed by our good friend Alec Pinkston. Alec is the executive producer at the Odd Machine, a recent award-winner at the New York Television and Film Festival, and was MVP of the episode of the Price is Right in which he appeared... at least according to this freak.

The show we're shooting is called "Sick Day" and is sort of a morning show on crack. And speed. And acid. Alec has assembled a cast of many hilarious Chicago comedians and actors to take part in the show. Paul and Kevin will be providing a fashion segment. Brent will be doing investigative reporting. And Peter will be providing doctor's tips on diseases you can use to call in sick to work that day. We're looking forward to a fun, long weekend in the studio.

The 2013 Chicago Sketchfest lineup was just announced and we're glad to be making our 6th appearance at the best sketch comedy festival in the world. Think Tank's show will be January 12th at 6pm on the Thrust stage. Well get you more info on tickets when they go on-sale. We always make a blow-out spectacle of these shows, and this year will be no different.

AND FINALLY, (but most importantly as it's coming up soon and I probably should've put this at the top) we're doing our 3rd Annual Holiday Show To Benefit A Worthy Cause (working title).

For the second year in a row we've chosen the Maebell Ward Foundation, a partner with the Alzheimer's Association and started by our good friend Terron Edmonds. The show will be December 13th at 8pm at Fizz Bar. Keep an eye on our facebook page for an invite and more details about what will be a candy-caney, egg-noggy jingle-belly good time.
